NVIDIA Adds Vulkan Support to Smooth Motion Frame Generation — A Boost for Many Games and Emulators

NVIDIA has updated its Smooth Motion guide, confirming that DLSS Frame Generation is now supported on RTX 50 Series GPUs for x86–64 Vulkan applications. Smooth Motion is a new driver-based AI feature that enhances gameplay fluidity by generating an intermediate frame between two rendered frames, using a dedicated Vulkan layer to inject the result. For titles that don’t support DLSS Frame Generation, Smooth Motion provides a new way to improve visual smoothness on GeForce RTX 50 GPUs. One of the most promising use cases is in emulators, where games locked to specific framerates can benefit from improved frame pacing and significantly higher perceived FPS.
